Artifacts on screen after Leopard install...

I had to reinstall Leopard earlier this week and I cannot figure out what is causing what I now know is these "artifacts" on my screen. If I am scrolling with the wheel on my mouse or if I am dragging the mouse and clicking on things on screen it seems like the pointer is leaving a trail all over the screen. Sometimes its just a small square box (like a pixel) and then other times it looks like a hyphen. The only way I can get them to go away is if scroll the scream up and down by the arrows and not the wheel on the mouse.

I am not sure what is causing this but its annoying and I don't know how to fix it. A friend of mine seems to think it has something to do with my memory in my computer. I didn't have the problem before I re-installed Leopard.

I am hoping I can fix this issue without having to wipe my drive yet again and install Leopard for a 3rd time!

If you know what I am talking about and have a solution, I would be glad to hear from you!

Do you think it has to do with my Graphics card which is a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro? If so, should I just put the install disc in and reinstall the software? Not sure if that would help or make it worse.

Try installing OSX 10.4 Radeon drivers.

Go to ATI/AMD website: Download Drivers for RADEON 9600 Pro for Tiger 10.4 and install. Repair Permissions and Restart.
