art schools for film?

I just did my LA film schools tour and ended with California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). It seems like a cool campus but im afraid its reputation of filmmaking is very experimental. They have a decent Alumni list but they are all very off the wall filmmakers ie. Tim Burton. I want to work as a DP on studio and independent films but im afraid Cal Arts may not have the best reputation among traditional studios. What do you guys think?

I think you should pick the school that you want to go to and not the reputation. Reputation based on Alumni is the last thing you should worry about. Filmmaking isn't like a fortune 500 company. The Harvard guys aren't only going to hire other Harvard guys. :)

True my main problem with the school is that if I apply for internships at studios and they see Cal arts they are going to think I am some super experimental filmmaker and will not work well with traditional narratives.
