Arriflex SR

Hey guys, I have a question or two.

Got any info on the Arri SR?

Like any how-to's or anything?

I've used film cameras before but I haven't used this one, and it seems different. I'll be shooting a few shorts soon and want to be as prepared as possible.

I shot a feature film on the SR. You need to purchase the ARRI SR Handbook by Jon Fauer. I think it is only $10. Invaluable.

I had problems threading the mags, a huge pain in the ass, it seems impossible to get the tip of the roll through that slot. Once you do though, everything else is a breeze.

Be careful you don't thread the tripod screw into the camera body. It will puncture the main circuit board. I wonder how many people have done this?

You also have to be careful with closing the mags. The locking levers are little tabs that can easily break.

Anyways, all of this stuff is covered in that book. Good luck!

Haha. Thanks, I've never heard that about the Circuit Board. Thanks for the book referral, and any chance I could get a download of that film or something?

Sorry, I don't have that film on dvd or harddrive. One of those projects I would like to get to some day.

Hi, you can download a manual for SR3 from Arri, the basics are about the same. The hardest thing is loading the camera and it's super easy :)
