Arri open face vs. Lowel DP

So I'm debating between getting an arri 1000w open face or a lowel dp 1000w and a lowel pro light. Is the arri really worth the extra $$$? Or is the dp about the same? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I can't speak for the arri's but I can tell you I really like my little pro light. It is a really light weight nicely focusable light, and the best part 115.00 bucks with doors and bulb on ebay. If you know how to take good care of your stuff it'll last a long time. Good luck with your purchase.
 
I haven't used that particular Arri but I have a DP and love it. For budget productions I would have no hesitation with going with it.

Heck, I used to do production with Omni's all the time and they held up wonderfully.
 
The great thing about a Lowel light is that they are so easy to rebuild. I regularly use a 1K Desisti Redhead on shoots - its outfitted with a Chimera ring and lamped a 600w. I had the Arri years ago, but the yoke broke when a small Chimera was on it. I got rid of that and pickup the Redhead. Been happy ever since.
