This question came up on set yesterday, & we could not come to a consensus. Unfortunately the cameras were already packed away so we didn't do the logical thing, & run a quick test.

When recording Log on Arri cameras does adjusting the EI affect the recorded image, or just the preview? Is the gain or noise reduction modified?

How about when capturing Raw?

Adjusting the ISO on the Arris does change the recorded Prores image - it shifts middle grey up or down (by however many stops you adjust the ISO) and that's the image that's recorded.

With the Arriraw files you can shift the ISO in post though (though they'll be imported at whatever ISO you shot them at).

Always imagined exposing LogC was similar to working with S-Log, but seems I'm wrong. Perhaps if I handled my own post this would have been more apparent.
