Arri Amira Overview Video

I know this forum focuses on other camera types mostly, but many of us do find ourselves behind something like an Alexa/Amira from time to time :)

Anyway, we just picked up our 1st Arri Amira and made this overview video. It contains a few short footage samples, and I plan to have more soon.

It's not really a direct competitor at it's price point for things like the F5 etc. but if you like the alexa sensor and you do a lot of handheld, it's pretty spectacular, and the Log-C gamma is pretty great.

Video here or below.

Thank you very much for the in-depth review. I already have an Alexa in-house and I am 50/50 of deciding to get another Alexa XT+ or two Amira's. This really helps us move forward with a decision for productions where we need to be more run-n-gun. Cheers!

Also you mentioned the EXT connection on the video (8:16): Assuming that it's the same set up as our Alexa that is used to connect Arri Accessories to the camera for power/communication. With a UMC-4 you can power 3 motors and an UDM. It will also allow (if you have LDS) to use pre-marked focus rings with in conjunction with the lens data archive. It also wirelessly transmits UDM data and lens/zoom/focus info as well as DOF range on to the WCU-4 display. If you don't have LDS lenses ARRI is supposed to release a firmware update to the WCU-4 that you can manually enter lens data thus allowing you to utilize the WCU-4 as if you had LDS. Thanks again for posting.

Awesome! Glad we could be of help. We have used the Amira twice now alongside our in house classic Alexa and they compliment each other nicely.
