Arri Alexa Timecode

Looking how to approach timecode on the Arri Alexa.

Normally I've always just did a closed loop through the cameras.

Camera 1 out -> Camera 2 in -> Camera 2 Out - > Camera 1 In

But since the camera uses Lemo connectors, and I need to introduce a 788T Sound Devices Recorder and DigiSlates, how would should I go about linking everything together?

Should I use some kind of Master Time Code Generator and run everything else as slaves off of that, or?

generally I have gotten the slate from the sound guy, who has already jam-synced it with a timecode generator, then just jam-sync the alexa to that. though, for the specific slate we had (I forget the model) we needed a special cable that took the sound guy about three days to get (we also didn't have reference audio cable for a couple of days as well, but that is another story, lol)

just my experience.

See I don't want to Jam sync... I'd rather stay connected, to everything. So I need some way to distribute the signal to all cameras, the audio recorder, and the digislates at the same time.

I could do it with a bunch of lemo to bnc cables to male to male bnc adapters to bnc cables, and a t-adapter to go to the slate, but it would be nice to have a single Master Clock box that has about 4 lemo outs and a 1/4 out for the slate.

What about the AJA Gen10 for GenLock/Sync and then a Denecke SB-T to BNC to XLR adapter to a For.A ADA-205A 1 x 10 Distribution Amp for Time Code. Then an XLR to 5-pin Lemo into the Cameras and Recorder, and a XLR to 1/4" to the digislate.

i am sorry i can't help you anymore, but i unfortunatly have yet to do the set up you describe.....
it sounds like you have the right idea, maybe talk to the rental house you are renting from and get their take? the rental house here in Atlanta (Pc&e) is very knowledgeable.
