Im one of those kids who film skateboards and bikes, Extreme stunts with extreme angles. Most of my filming is indoors and outside at night. Now im enrolled at The art institute of nyc, and the arri 1k open-faced light appealed to me bigtime. Im under the assumtion that an open-faced light will blow up a spot with light quite whell, and with the use of barndoors and scrims can be controled quite easily. Does anyone have any suggestions. BTW, i dont mind spending money ha, so if you have some more reasonably expensive options tell me.
Here are some examples of shots i could have used some lighting with... or could have used better lighting.. please give any suggestions you have
thank you

You could try a Par 56 with a 1K bulb.
You can buy them for about $60 w/bulb.
Very economical, bright, and durable.
Not too compact though.

The ARRI 1K open-face is a good light, but I've seen a couple with jammed focus knobs.

Desisti makes an inexpensive open-face as well.

If size is an issue, a Lowel Omni with a 600 watt bulb would work great.
Very durable, and compact.

Go to B&H and try out different lights there.
See what you like.
