ARGGGGG!!!! Adobe Encoder Issues

Okay guys heres the deal for some reason my adobe encoder is on the fritz. Whenever I make dvd mpegs it always adds like 10 mins or more of blank audio to my dvd mpeg. Im thinking no problemo right. I'll trim it in encore no biggie. Wrong. Whenever i get done with my error free project file, it says my file has a memory allocation error. Then I cant burn my dvd. I must say this has already stalled up many a music video, thats not so much a headache cuz dvd's are short. But now I got an hour long church video so you can imagine the render times etc. Anybody have any suggestions or solutions.

Bypass the encoder. It's screwed up on me, too, enough that I stopped using it. Just export a barely compressed file and use that with a separate program. I assume Encore can do that, among others. Part of the issue back when I got into the habit was that the standard encoder ran ridiculously slow compared to other encoders, I don't know if that's changed.
