Are we really shocked?

Is it supossed to surprise me that this sick piece of crap excuse for a human being has:

"...spent much of his adult life in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at gunpoint and was on the run when he was captured from charges he molested a 6-year-old boy in Minnesota."

Is it though?

As a society we just sit back and say "Eh, that's focked." Sometimes I just don't get it. I don't get why Vigilante Justice is not acceptable.

Why are there nothing but ass-hats running the show? Why was this monster out of prison? (much less executed). I'm at a loss and want to commend his lawyers.

It's a sad sotry John and one that's all too common.

I'm not a defense attorney, nor do I know any defense attorneys, but is it not their goal to get their client free? I mean, isn't that the highest compliment for a defense lawyer? So even if a guy did it, but he's got a great defense lawyer, he could get a few years or even freed. So if a lawyer does his job well a guilty man could go free. How screwed up is that? And how do lawyers deal with that guilt? Sometimes I wish we had a Red Handed Law. Basically, if you're caught red handed you must defend yourself. The guy was with the abducted girl, I'd say that's red handed. I know there are problems with this theory. How do you define "red handed"? Wouldn't some innocent people be forced to defend themselves? Etc. I didn't say my ideas were great. But surely there MUST be a better way to 1) keep the guilty and those who haven't showed complete rehabilitation in prison longer and 2) scare the crap out of potential criminals. I'd say if you make criminals defend themselves you'd have many more criminals visiting the local library, reading up on some law books. ...and reading never hurt anyone.
