Hello guys,

I really want to buy a light kit, but I can't find the rostronics ones here in the uk. I found this lighting kits where I bought my camera from. Now, I really wanted to know if they are really worth buying.
If not, I'll probably try to get the lowel ones.

Here is the link: http://videoactionpro.com/index.php

Please, I really want to hear your opinions.

Thanks in advance

Fidel.

Re: are this lights any good?

Ianiro makes good products, I have a couple of their HMI's and some of their big wheeled junior stands (except that they use plastic knobs on the tighteners, and some of those are broken! And they're an Italian company so I can't find replacement parts here).

Blondes and Redheads have been around for years, I don't think you'd go wrong with Ianiro. And some of the Lowel gear is pretty good, I just think it's priced way too high in comparison to the Britek stuff, but heck, my Lowels have held up for six or seven years now, I've melted knobs off 'em and gotten 'em replaced, etc. and they keep going.

Too bad Britek doesn't have easier international distribution, I bet they'd get a lot of sales!

Re: are this lights any good?

Since lights are heavy, importing them isn't always a good idea, so it's good to find locally produced alternatives. There are some great small manufacturers locally designed material, even if they will never compare with an Arri kit (or mole, etc...). That being said, They really didn't impress me, and I thing I can find much better stuff over here for that price, so I am guessing you will be able to find better deals if you look for it...

Cheers!

Yes, it is too bad Britek don't have easier international distro.

Anyway, which of those kits do you suggest? The Red Head one or the Lilliput?

Thanks in advance
