Are there any 35mm lens i can use with both my adapter and DSLR?

Might be a redundant question here in this forum.....but i am planning to buy a digital SLR (Nikon) and was wondering if the current lens (used for the newer models) would be compatible with a 35mm adapter (preferably with the brevis). I know that you would need the Nikon AI-S models but i wanted to see if anybody has tried with the Nikon Nikkor (AF-S) models.

Thanks.

*and please correct me if I'm wrong...lol i am always willing to learn.

The work flow with auto lenses is to use the DSLR camera body to set the aperture then remove and mount to Brevis. It is a bit cumbersome but often worth it if you have nice glass around for you DSLR.

You can use manual 35mm lenses on your DSLR, just be aware that there is a sensor crop on most mid priced DSLRs it is usually around 1.5x. Many DSLRs do not have a full 35mm image sensor. This will multiply the focal length by the sensor crop ration. This is different for each manufacturer.

what lenses and camera did you have in mind?

A better choice might be to get full frame, fast lenses (like old manual or new automatic film SLR lenses). They will work to some degree on your DSLR and will work on your 35mm adaptor.

Thats what I was recommending...Sorry if that was not clear, but yes I agree with Awakend. Buy lenses for your adapter then sometimes use them on your DSLR.

Well the DSLR that i would like to get, is preferably a Nikon. Maybe a D60, D80, or a D200. I know for sure that i cant get a full frame camera just yet...lol, Nikon's full frame camera is like around $3,000.

The case with new auto focus lenses is that the lens barrel doesn't turn much to get smooth rack or follow focus so you'll benefit from (geared down) FF device like the Redrock FF or Indi something...
... I see you are accustomed to real broadcast lens that will probably have the infinity focus mark on the right side of the lens - the only equivalent SLR lens that are comparable in function are the old Canon FD lenses, without the chrome ring and better with the "L" red ring around the front - but those are the ones you can not use on any DSLR body.

Cheers,
