Are the new iMacs good enough to edit uncompressed SD?

Hi,

I know I can't capture uncompressed to them, but if I can capture digibeta rushes elsewhere, are the iMacs strong enough to handle digibeta quality quicktimes? And what about DVC Pro 100?

Cheers!

DVCPROHD yes. Uncompressed- depends how. With an AJA IO HD capturing SD to ProRes- sure.

Firewire 800 drives are all you need for uncompressed SD. Well, hardware raided firewire 800 drives, like the G-Raid or Firewire VR or LaCie Bigger Disks.
