Are my setting right for squeeze mode editing?

Sorry guys but reading threads on this just make me more confused.

I shot a music video using squeeze mode 24pa. I would like to ideally have multiple delivery mediums, but most importantly would be digital (YouTube, etc.). I would like to stay in a widescreen ratio throughout.

Using Vegas 8, I captured the footage. I didn't see any settings regarding the ratio or mode. Is there anything I need to change during capture?

After capture, for the new project properties, I chose the template "NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720x480, 23.976 fps)" Is that correct? What is "IMX" and is that anything I have to worry about in this scenario? Next I right clicked on the video in the timeline, went to properties>media, and chose "1.2121 (NTSC DV Widescreen)" for the pixel aspect ratio.

I know there are different settings when it's time to render for various delivery formats, but is there anything I should know during timeline editing that will affect me later? Because even though everything looks fine in the preview window, some things looked different when I did a test render in different formats.

Squeeze mode is a little confusing to me, so I would just like to know if there's anything I'm doing wrong so far in the capture/edit stage before I edit the whole program.

Thanks!!

Squeeze Mode

I can't answer every question you got here, but I can shed a little light on Squeeze Mode.

The DVX only shoots 4:3 images: Normal is the full 4:3 image, Letterbox adds the black bars for a widescreen presentation, and Squeeze mode captures widescreen images "squeezed" into a 4:3 frame. In post, this allows you to capture squeezed footage for a widescreen presentation, where the 4:3 is "stretched" and the images appears as a bona fide widescreen footage.

I'm not familiar with Vegas 8, but it does appear that you're choosing the correct settings... But someone more familiar with the Vegas program should probably take the floor from here.

Pretty much what I am remote said. The actual size of squeeze mode when displayed correctly is 864 x 486 (or 480).
