Are Giottos MH621 and Manfrotto 577 quick release adapters and plates compatible?

Unfortunatly no, the 577 uses the 501PL. 501PL is narrower then the 621. So the 621 is too wide to fit in the 577 and the 621 base does not have enough reach to clamp on the narrow 501 plate.
