Are digital lenses usable for 35mm adapters?

I have an SG35 and was wondering if I could get acceptable results with my Nikon digital series lenses. I'm aware that the image on the GG will be small, but would zoom compensate? Is there a sacrifice in quality?
 
Hi,

You will not be able to zoom in enough with your camera, and maintain focus. You will need lenses that project the full 35mm image circle.
