My new Sachtler head is 75mm but my old Varizoom tripod leg is 100mm. I'm looking into getting a 75mm-to-100mm adapter for it and I see that there's quite a great variation in price between Manfrotto brand adapter and brand like Sachtler or Cartoni. I'm wondering if a Manfrotto adapter would fit into a Varizoom tripod or any other 100mm tripod. Has anyone encountered a situation where an adapter would not fit into a tripod of a different brand?
Are 100mm bowl adapters universal?

They all pretty much do the same thing - reduce 100mm to 75mm. I have expensive on and cheap ones. The only real difference is the thickness of the material. I have no preference for one over the other.
