So...for work, we have footage that comes off of an Archos device in the .AVI format. On our Mac Pro desktops, we use DIVX Doctor II in order to convert the .AVI files to .MOV so that we can easily (read: not have to render after every change) edit the footage in FCP. I recently purchased a brand new MBP 17" 2.3 i7 120GB SSD, the whole works, BUT, after installing all of the exact same software, I cannot get the .MOV files (which were originally .AVI) to play in FCP. After converting the files on my MBP and importing the .MOV files into FCP, I drag them into the timeline only to find that I can't get visual playback in either the canvas or viewer window (It will show the frame I was previously on the frame that I stop on. There is no issue with the audio. It plays flawlessly. Just the video.). I'm completely at a loss for what to do. I've tried completely restoring my laptop from the OS up and reinstalling FCP along with the appropriate codec(s) and accompanying software, but nothing has worked. Here are the details on my software and hardware:
MBP 17" 2.3 i7, 120GB SSD
FCP 7.0.3
DIVX Doctor II 2.2
3iVX Codec
