I purchased an Archos 705 with a DVR. The resolution is 800X480 and the DVR takes component in. I am going to hook it up to my HV20 and see if I can use it for monitoring.
It has to be better than the HV20 LCD and if it isn't I can always return it.
I can't see spending over a thousand dollars or even 700 on an 8 inch LCD with the same res that claims to be an HD monitor.
I will report how it works here.
Perhaps it will be a much cheaper 400 dollar monitoring solution that also can be useful in other ways like storing photographs, music, or your demo reel if need be etc.
