archos 705 as monitor? (for dof adapter)

Picture quality will always be awful going through a composite connection. It will never output at the full resolution of the monitor, making it useless for focus.

thanks.
it 'seems to be very difficult to find a good monitor for focusing at a good price. i can't buy a hd one cause the price is too high for my budget.

i've seen lots of screens with 800*480 resolution (xenarc, sony fx850/820, no name on ebay, etc...) but i believe they all have only composite imput (it's the yellow plug? we're ok?), so all theses screens are not good for focusing?

do you have any suggestions for a good choice at a 150/250 € price range?

i'm not making professional shoots so i don't need an ultra precise screen off the dead but it's now the last thing i need for my setup, and it' a real pain to find one, really!

Are you shooting HD or SD? If HD, you will not find anything that can give you accurate focus for that amount of money. I would save a few bucks and get a Manhattan LCD there are about $500 or so and for the money nothing comes close that I have ever worked with. If you are shooting SD it is still gonna be tough to find something decent for really cheap. Although I don't know how much american dollars you are talking about.

Manhattan LCD is the route I would go. I do feel you on the budget thing though. It just makes more sense to save an buy the right thing rather than buy something that is wrong and pay twice. But i'm not too familiar with the HV30. Just my 2.
