archiving video projects

Hi all,

Not sure this is the correct area for this question but here goes.

I've recently been making the transition into video work to expand the services I am able to offer to clientele. I am finding that the video projects are quite data heavy and take up a lot of space. Can anyone offer a viable suggestion for archiving these projects?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Dennis

I've got a set of three WD Caviar Green hard drives that I plug in to a docking bay on my desktop for quick, easy storage.

For more long-term solutions, I've just purchased a Blu-Ray burner and a pack of single layer discs to start archiving important projects with. Some of the bigger projects may require two or more DL layer discs, however. And make sure that you pick good brands if you go this route as well (I'm using Verbatim).

It may be a little expensive at the moment (a dual-layer Blu-Ray disc is around 10 dollars a pop), but it can definitely be worth it for the peace of mind.
