Archiving Question

If I take what is on my G- Drive right now and copy it to dvds to archive and I want to revisit this project later (assuming I've saved the project files) will I be able to copy the files on the Dvd back to the G-Drive and they will link up with the project files automatically or will I have to relink everything?

You'll probably have to start by reseting your scratch disks, since you've
worked on other projects since your archiving.

If you've recopied the files back to the same location on the drive,
and the drive has the same name, the relinking should be pretty
painless, i.e. mostly automatic.

I'd media manage the project first, then take the folder with the project and media the media manager creates and burn that to DVD's, splitting up the media if necessary. Then when you revisit, copy that folder back to your hard drive with all the media and you shouldn't have to reconnect anything.

Long term I'd consider something more robust for your archives- either use hard drives you can afford to be without while they sit on the shelf or consider a Blu-Ray burner or LTO drive. You can definitely media manage and then copy the project among multiple DVDs but it's kind of a lot of extra work, not to mention incredible slow...
