Architect 4.0 Question - Rendering

This question pertains to DVD Architect 4.0

I output a 2 hour movie (mpeg2) to Architect. I made a "Scene Selection" page from the media clip so another "box" appeared on the screen that reads "Scene Selection."

What I noticed is that DVD architect now reads this project as having TWO 2-hour movie clips loaded into it, when I'm actually only using the one.

This has immensely increased the file size of the project, thus affecting my output MBPS. It's only 3.5 now and that will not give me great video (I know I rendered one already and watched it).

Is there a way to tweak it so Architect uses the original clip and "Refers" to it. I don't understand why they would "Copy" the file, thus doubling the project size.

Thanks for any tips. I've been struggling with this for a while.

In the bottom right corner it used to say 9.5 GB used, but now it says 4.5.

So, voila, it works now. That is really strange. I simply closed the project and reopened it and now it says only 4.5. I don't see two instances of my film, I see "Feature" and below that I see a folder that reads "Scene Selection."

Cool. Thanks for the help. Hopefully my render will look less "noisy" now and I can get a higher BPS.

Actually, that 4.5 GB used was after I "optimized." My movie file is 11 GB. It's a musical I filmed and it's 2 hrs. 23 minutes in length. I guess my render settings were too "good" giving me a file that large. I used the default .avi NTSC render setting. I guess I'll have to change that so it renders with "less quality" because the movie is so large. That stinks.

Thanks, David. Will do. I checked out your Vegas Basics video on using 24p with Vegas. Great stuff. Thanks for making stuff like that. It helps 10x more people than you'll ever know. Much appreciated.
