Aquaman Rules

This has got to be the biggest movie of all time. Think about what we have got here...

James Cameron directing, Mandy Moore, James Woods, and Vincent Chase. C'mon, this is going to be the biggest movie of all time, plus with Cameron going back to the water you know it's Oscar gold again.

Who's going to see it? :)

Best show on HBO... .

 sweet holy christ man... better than Rome? Sopranoes? Deadwood?

Entourage is okay, dont get me wrong, but def. not the best on HBO. Maybe the best on NBC.

Its the one I look forward to most.

Second season of Rome could be interesting... we're definately in fantasy territory
for it as they have closed off most of the historical plotlines and the characters
left are mostly constructs.. most of which didnt outlive Caesar :) I've got
to reserve judgement till we see the plotlines.

Deadwood was pretty dead wood for the premiere. Its gotten very soap
opera-ish and I'm only really interested in Swearingen and Lee :)

Sopranos has REALLY flattened out its arc. Last season almost didnt
have one... they covered a LOT of time.

Having said that, the HBO series have supplanted most theatrical movies
as my preferred entertainment. ALL of the above are better than anything
I've seen on the big screen in years. Hehe.. I've only been to a theater
twice in the last 4 years... both times it was with my 4 and 2 year old :)

Me too. The quality and character depth is pretty amazing. Six Feet Under was great, and I can't wait for season 2 of Rome.

I've 'fallen' for everything they've put any effort into in recent years.

My favorite aspect is that I find myself ebbing and flowing between
caring about different plotlines and characters. My favorites come to
the top and then take a back seat as others draw focus.

I also REALLY enjoy the ensemble nature of the shows... they are
basically a troop of character actors... character acting :)

Man, the box office numbers on this movie are freakin' huge!

Plus, just that scene where Vinny is running down the pier and getting ready to jump into the water... This guy is a star!!! Superstar!

This is precisely why HBO's shows are so entertaining. They are true ensemble works. I hadn't watched Entourage until recently and am now hooked. I watched Rome and loved it. I hope the next season comes out before 2010! They really do a good job on producing the shows, but they certainly make us wait between seasons!

I want my Almost Famous moment.

Hehe.. the show just keeps getting better. Drama and the guy going to the
restroom was freaking classic :)

I'm not so into the WB doing Aquaman but at least the replaced the...ummm....how do I say this nicely... effeminate looking Aquaman.

I really enjoy Smallville. They've done some cool things with the Superman mythology overall.

I used to like Smallville, and liked the fact that my preteen son liked this Superman-like show. That was ... until it became less of the story of the life of young Clark and more the story of a horny teen. I understand that in focusing on the life of the MC moreso than his superpowers, his being an adolescent would naturally have to eventually include some sexuality. However, the eventually overly risque sexual scenes made me have to take it off the list of "approved shows" for my sons. And I hate that! Why must shows and movies take an otherwise good concept that appeals to an audience that begins at age 8 and turn it into something that only adults and perhaps older teens should watch? I had the same reaction to Matrix II and Underworld II. Why add the highly charged, explicit and way too long sexual scene when YOU KNOW kids are watching this??

Maybe I should start a new thread on this issue.

Cause little kids can't spend money on products like horny teens can. And the network is after the most coveted market demographic, horny teens - horny twenty somethings. I watch Smallville and I definitely noticed the added sexuality, but since I don't have kids, I didn't mind so much.
