Anyone who owns this LED light, let me know what you think of it. I've seen good and bad reviews, but I still can't make up my mind and would love to hear more opinions. The flickering issue is my main concern, but some users say that they didn't even have this issue with their lights. Seems like good value for the price and the portability and cheap batteries is a big selling point for me.

Any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated.
 
By the way, I've already searched and read all the posts on these boards about the light. I'm just looking for more opinions from owners. I also know that this isn't the best light that money can buy. I just need multiple lights that are portable and light weight with cheap batteries to shoot deep in the woods with no generators.
 
Had 2 units and both flickered. The S version all flicker as far as I know, W don't.
 
Did the S flicker at full power for you? I'm hearing that the flicker is only a problem at certain settings...Did you have the W?

I currently have 5 F&V Z96 lights and I'll be using a fire as well. I like them, but will definitely need more.
 
The S doesn't flicker at fullest and lowest setting bur anything in between. Did not have the W version.
 
Thanks for the info stip. I guess you returned them then. I can't understand why they would even release a light that flickers like this.

Anyone else have any other ideas for portable solutions for shooting in the woods with no generator.

Just got this in a PM:

"i am new here, i just saw your post about Aputure 528s,

I've bought one, it works normally. It seems that
Aputure has switched new AC adapter, the flicker problem is resolved."
 
The light flickered when driven from AC adapter but also when powered from battery. I don't think switching the AC adapter can solve this.
 
My feeling is that the PM came from someone who actually sells these lights...I do hope that the flicker is fixed, but I'm skeptical.
 
I had looked at these lights in the past but was turned off by the flicker. Its good news that it is fixed (is it fixed in the S model as well?) but how does someone know which version they are buying? I 'm sure a lot of re-sellers with old stock are still trying to sell it and I don't trust any seller to give honest opinion on flicker as most said it was flicker free on earlier models when it clearly wasn't.
