With the site offline everyone had a think about if the site has value. I beleive it does as the wash of 'infomation' on YT is so deep that it is hard to navigate.

It is great to hear 'Bill' say - 'I do corpoate interviews in offices this tool works for that'

Using the phone is great becuae any data recorded (pictures) stay on the device I have.

While I have 'recced' with a DSLR I can make a beautiful 'report' on FOV, light intensity temp and tint it using raw files and Catshti One it is a big job that I would need paying for.

Anywhay Ive already broken one thread by veering OT by chatting light meter apps. So lets do a whole app thread.

1) light meter app for recces.

I would love to take my phone into an officse and take a photo. and then know that the Temp is 4200 and the tine +4,

i can then scratch my head about how to deal with this in a months time.

Also having an actual photo of the location will jog my tiny brain into remembering which location is which, also could help any prie rigging/instructions to gaffers.

2) Sun seeker..
I guess this is established.

Id like to take a photo of a location, and have the arc plotted for may the 14th and store that data in 'my photos'

3) spirit level

4) sidus.. I prefer this on an ipad but love it, nearly

5) any other business

The most used apps when I'm working are Helios Pro (sun path) and Artemis Pro (viewfinding), both made by Chemical Wedding and are feature-packed and best in class.

pCam, which has a suite of calculation tools such as focal length match (useful for calculating same image size across different sensors), depth of field, and many others.

Scriptation (on the iPad), fantastic tool for marking up scripts and transferring notes across revision versions.

ShotDesigner (on the iPad), useful for making overhead plans of shots and sequences, although I wish the interface was overhauled (or a better version of the concept made in another app).

Various apps for lighting control: Sidus Link, Chroma Link, SLD

Vuer, for Teradek iOS transmission

Filmic Pro, but now that we have Blackmagic Camera, more likely to use the latter.

Various remote camera interfaces to use as required: Varicam ROP, GoPro, DJI Go

PromptSmart, prompter interface with remote control for scrolling

Very useful. Thank you.

I have 'prompt dog' that I cant control the speed of well (but does everything el.se)
DJI go (dont like using my phone)
zcam app on my ipad
sidus on my ipad

Ill check th phone apps .. I need a sunseeker and a lightmeter for starters

If you're shooting on Red then Red Control is an amazing app, especially for the price of free. Shotdeck just released an ios app as well, which is great if you need to reference on the go any shot ideas you may have saved.
