Applying sound effects to sound events

Is it possible to apply a sound effect (ex: reverb) to just a portion of a sound track (ex: one event) rather than have to apply it to the entire track?

Let me know :)... I am now adding score to my short film... This is exciting!

You could also make an audio track the has the specific FX on the track and then anything you want to use that FX can be put in that track.

You can also create envelopes for some effects to turn them on/off or modify parameters over time.

The Audio tools in Vegas are VERY powerful :)

Yes, that is what I have been doing, but for a 40 minute project it might become nutts ( so many audio tracks, each with it's own EQ and effect)

That sounds appealing... How do I do that? Can it be done for EQ settings as well?

Ok, so if I go that route, will I not be able to hear the effect (non real time) when I play back?

Should I render to a new track? If so will I lose quality?

You can preview it while you set it up. When you click "OK," it'll render a new clip and automatically replace the one you had -- in the timeline, not in your hard drive, so the original file is still there. It's undo-able, and it only takes a second.

Good deal :) Thanks david!
