Applying Limiter filter in Sound Track Pro

I exported an aif file from FCP, then opened STP and imported that file. I then applied a Limiter filter, made the changes, saved and re-imported into FCP. But the changes don't appear to be there.

What am I doing wrong? I also tried 'flatten all audible actions' but still no changes stuck.

What action is supposed to 'cement' the changes one applies, as in this instance adding the limiter? I thought saving should, I mean why else is it there?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for replying! This has been extremely irritating when you can't do what seems obvious.

Yes, I'd love to try that, but 'Export' under file is grayed out. How do you export, do you have to select something or what?

I finally figured it out. I see that simply opening a file in STP and applying filters doesn't mean it will work. Why they even allow you to work on a file that you can't save the changes is beyond me.

To make it work, I opened STP, but instead of then opening a clip, I just dragged it onto the track where it appeared and also appeared in a window that has tabs like film editor, etc. THEN after applying the filter I could export, save with changes sticking, whatever.

WHy would they let you open a file, apply filters, save it but not have the changes actually be saved? This is the stupidest app I've ever worked with, f*** Apple, it makes me wanna go pc and Vegas.

And if you do open a file, how do you get it down into the window with the tabs, or onto tracks, where work can actually be saved?

Thanks again!
