Applying Effects during import/capture PP CS 5.5

Hi.
I am capturing a bunch of old analog tapes and need to crop out 2% of the frame on all four sides. It works fine with the "crop" effect but I want to capture the tapes to .mov files with the cropping burned in, as opposed to applying the effect to clips on a timeline and re-exporting them.

Can anybody help?

-Thanks,
Chris

There would no doubt be a somewhat pricey pass-thru hardware solution.
It wouldn't save you the extra step, but I'd prefer to use PP to instead expand the image size by the 3 or 4% to lose what you are seeing. Otherwise the frame size change might be noticeable on a computer monitor when intercut with full frame video.

Yes I want to crop and zoom 2% and maintain same frame size.

Anybody have any ideas on applying a filter during capture/import?

Or for that matter how to destructively batch apply a filter to multiple video files from Premiere?

PP cannot do anything to a file during capture. (I'm not aware of any NLE that can do this.) As earlier suggested, you'd probably need some type of hardware to crop and scale before the signal gets to the software.
