Hey!
I am colorgrading a music video now, and as you understand, there are awfully many clips... So is there any way to just colorgrade one clip and then apply it to all? I know I can copy and paste to every clip but how can I apply it to all?
One of two ways. 1. Select clip with the CC. Copy it with command-c. Select all clips in your sequence, select paste attributes, select filters. This will copy all filters on the CC'd clip, so if you only want to copy and paste the CC, do this 2. Highlight all clips to be CC'd. Double click on the one clip with the CC you want to copy. Select the filters TAB in the viewer. Drag the CC filter from the viewer onto the timeline and the selected clips.
Or, you can nest the sequence which will allow you to make universal changes easily:
-- Create a new sequence (we'll refer to as "color correct" or "CC") with the same exact settings as your current (or "edited") sequence.
(Make sure the sequence settings are identical or you'll have to render, and your settings won't be right. An easy way is to (right click and) duplicate your original sequence. Then nuke everything in it, that will create a new sequence with identical settings if you're unsure.)
-- Go to your bin, find your current "edited" sequence and drag it, or insert it into your new "cc" sequence. Now your whole "edited" sequence is treated as a single movie clip in your "cc" sequence. You now can simply add the 3-way or whatever filter you'd like.
If you want to make a change it'll be much easier than copy and pasting over and over every time you make an adjustment.
That being said, I'd still recommend color correcting by a shot by shot basis, but sometimes you just need to mock it up, or whatever, so I won't preach.
