Apple to PC---out to tape/capture from tape. Can you hook two computers together with out going back to tape? Say FCP to P.Pro and run capture from tape. Wouldn't each computer accept the other as a camera?
Are you trying to move footage from one computer to another?
If so you can use firewire drive or network or burn data DVD.
The computer is always configured as master (not a camera). It's probably possible for someone to write special code that would act like a camera and download images to firewire like a camera but not sure what the poitn would be.
