apple shake 4

One more thing, regarding layers, below is a link to a project Nervo was cool enough to post some production stills from. Their final comp, in AE, was 539 layers, with most of those being precomps. If you include all the precomps I'm sure it has well over 1000 layers.

(make sure you check it out "best seen large")

Oh my dear sweet Glavin. I felt portions of myself constricting as I ran down through that comp. Color coding the layers sure seems to help, but man alive, that's enough to make a person's head go round and round.

And that was one hell of a video.

Are we gonna talk about Digital Fusion now?

I can't talk about Fusion, no Mac version. Whenever I do feel the need to upgrade I'll probably check out Nuke. I heard Ron Brinkman (one of the creators of shake) ended up there after leaving Apple.

Yeah, that comp is overwhelming, but you have to admit, it'd be fun slamming through that thing.

Hehe... that image still gives me nightmares :)
