HEY,

When i export out a 4min video out Pro Res 422, It is super big around 3.25 GB. is there away I can export this at a reasonable size for Web????

There are at least a couple dozen ways (programs) on OSX to do this. If your working with Final Cut Pro I recommend using Compressor. You can do it from Final Cut and Quicktime Pro.

Depends on where youre uploading to. Even if you export something at best quality odds are the site is going to compress it down again anyways

Pro-Res is not an optimized format for the web as its still quite large so your best best is to compress to h264 via FCP or Compressor. You have more controls in Compressor and there are also presets already there for different kind of web use (ie streaming, download, etc).

Different sites have different standards on how they want the video compressed (max bit rate, audio codec, etc). I would check with what video hosting site (vimeo, youtube) and see what their requirements are.

If you are posting the video say on your website, some settings you want to keep in mind are- size (obviously a 720x480- native dv file will be larger then a 320x240 file), the quality (better quality larger size), and the bit rate (if you dont know much about this either use a compressor preset or jsut leave on automatic). The other main thing you want to do is set the de-interlace setting, otherwise you will have interlaced lines on the video.

Using the vimeo settings they asked for, a 720x480 h264 is somewhere around 100mb if i can recall (if anything it was smaller)
