Apple LCD Cinema displays, older version...

I know these displays are great for editing, and the new ones don't seem much different, I have a friend who wants to seel me his 2 year old 23" which looks like new, I just wondered if anyone knows whether the life of these is limited (like crt's tend to last 3-4 years) and if LCD's color shift also? Any thoughts?

well...if its cheap but it, but you can get a new 20" for 700.00 bucks.

they are finite, depending on the manufacturer I remember seeing numbers something like 40,000-70,000 hours, the back light starts to fade. depending on your friends use, it's current condition and how you plan to use it, you can guess that you "could" get another 2-4 years, by then you'll want to upgrade anyway..
