apple laptop as second display ?

I wanted to get a second display for editing in final cut but rather than just buy a cinema display it would be nice to have a laptop that I could take with me for other projects.....

would the powerpc ibooks that are currently on the apple site work ?
my current desktop is a imac power pc g5 (3)
with an ati radeon 9600

anyone have this setup ?
did some reading and am confused at what mirror mode is ? also would I be able to use the laptop to make my imac run faster ?
 
You most likely could not use it like that.

1st Which PPC iBooks

2nd You'd probably need a second display anyway... (From the G5 and the MacBook)

3rd What you really, really want is a good videomonitoring display solution which has nothing to do with computer displays anyway.
