Apple Error -1407

Anybody ever experience this code before? I get it whenever I try to delete something from my 320 GB WD EXT FW HDD. I can write to it, no problem. But it doesn't like to let me send anything to the trash...when I try that, this error code comes up.

I've searched through the registered Apple Error Codes, and -1407 isn't one of them...any ideas?
 
Yep - did all that. I'm actually having the problem in Finder. I ran Disk Utility on that drive, too. I just wanna know what the problem is?
 
Thanks, Blaine. I figured that reformatting the drive would probably fix me up, but I wanted to try to avoid that...it's 85% full. Oh well...
