Apple being Apple...

There's no better port to have on a MacBook Pro than a Thunderbolt 3/USB C that you can also use to charge your computer. Any other port is weaker.

I get that some people can come up with a unique configuration of ports that suits THEM better, because the convenience of a USB A port would help THEM.

But USB A is weaker than what's already on there. It just is. I do get the "strength of diversity". Synergy, kind of. I really do. It's just that they are all weaker options.

I haven't had a TB3 port fail me once. Doesn't mean anything. But I've seen with my own eyes just how moronic people can be (which is basically fine) connecting sub par or outright wrong cables and adapters or other flaky gear. But they never seem to ask themselves if the culprit of their struggles might lie elsewhere than the port.

As always: vote with your money. Don't like the product? Don't buy it.
