Hey,

Anyone heard of this guy? He won the Palme for Uncle Boonme. I've seen 2 of his films, Boonme and Syndromes and a Century. His films have this surreal mood, where action is kept to a minimum, mostly wide shots are used, and the images seem to pass by, they don't depict anything specific. I find that really fascinating, it gives you so much room for thought. The dinner scene with the forest creature in Boonme is stunning, it's strange but feels completely natural at the same time. The whole film is like that, it just shows you some things happening, not depicting anything specific. I think he's one of the most important directors working today. Would like to see some of his shorts, but i have no idea how or where :/

What do you think of his films? Do you admire this style of filmmaking?

Very talented Thai filmmaker. Unfortunately he's had some issues with the censors over here. His latest is called Mekong Hotel. Curious what it's about and where it was shot since I live along the Mekong.
