Apeture ring for Sigma 18-35mm F1.8?

I have seen a few moddified Sigma 18-35mm lenses with aperture rings and wanted to know if anyone knows of how its done? I believe GL optics does one but its close to 4-5k which is more than I want to spend so I wanted to know if there was another way as every adapter I have used so far has no actual markings for f stops so judging my iris is tough. That plus the adapters I have used for the sigma nikon mount on sony cameras have very little movement to control the iris and makes fine adjustments tough.

Places like G.L. Optics rehouse the optics for full manual control.

If you really need it, you could search for a used G.L. and save some money. OR for what I have heard, Sigma is coming out with their own cine version of the lens. But I expect it to likely be $2500 or better.

I think you could also get the lite Allstar version for under $3000.

Novoflex nikon version has quite decent throw. It's short but easily controllable. This plus sigma 18-35 is the cheapest closest to cinema lenses operability quality.

How would it compare to the fotodoix one? I have that on my e-mount cameras and a mtf nikon adapter on my F3.

Also found this today, does anyone know how the quality of these are, I know the first gen got mixed reviews but the design had changed since then. I really just want to know what I have my sigma 18-35mm set to f stop wise haha.
