Aperture on Movie camera VS Photo camera

Sorry if it's a stupid question...

On photo camera changing aperture changes the DOF. But what about a movie camera, VDSLR etc... ? For example on a DSLR I have to set the shutterspeed at 1/50 and I have two other variables left to set exposure: iso and aperture. Does changing the aperture means changing the DOF in video also, or in case of video aperture, or iris changes the exposure and the DOF is based solely on the choice of lens?

Thanks!

Same principle as in photography. Changing aperture, changes depth of field. Lens choice will affect how low the fd top will go and also the perceived DOF (higher zoom compresses distances). Sensor size will also affect DOF (crazy DOFbon full frame, not so much on my 1/4" video camera).
