Apartments in LA for one month

Are there any furnished apartments in Los Angeles that lease on a month to month basis? Looking at going out there in January for a month to hold auditions and have a few meetings, and 1 month lease should be significantly cheaper than 30 days at a hotel.

EDIT: Can a mod fix the thread title, missed the "e" in "one".

Finding an individual apt owner willing to rent for one month is extremely difficult. Furnished is even more difficult. Options will vary greatly depending on budget. Many good hotels will negotiate heavily for a longer term stay - esp in a slow season. You need to call the individual property to cut a deal - don't go thru the call center.

Extended Stay America is a chain that caters to this market - offers a basic hotel room with kitchenette and weekly linen service - amenities vary by location.

On a 2 month stay we rented a unfurnished unit then accessorized at the local salvation army - bed, table, chairs, TV, Dishes, Pots & pans, even a coffee pot - all for under $150 total. Planned to donate it all back when we left but incoming student wanted it all.

Suggestions on what area to stay in? I probably will not have a car, so I need to get around on foot or by bus (if even possible).

We're looking at renting a place for auditions for one project, and then have a few meetings with actors for another.

I was ideally looking for a place like this:

They do 1 month leases straight through the property owner.

There are these websites for "couch surfing" where people let you stay in their house for free(?!?) but I'm not sure if there's a time limit on how long you can stay

I won't be going after all, I can't get the kind of money I need. Between transportation there and back, hotel/apartment, car rental, etc. It'll be close to $5000.

For future reference - Craigslist. You -probably- won't end up buried in someone's back yard.

Also, check out the Royal Equestrian apartments - been a while but they used to offer very reasonable short-term furnished rentals, and are well-located in Burbank.
