Anyone with insights about upcoming LED products?

If Vitek has its way, there won't be any. Vitek, owners of many cinema oriented manufacturers, Litepanels in particular, is suing a majority of the made in China LED manufacturers for patent infringement. There is more info further down in the Lighting Board.

I saw a very impressive 200W variable white fixture called the Cygnus 200 from Wybron. It looks fantastic in a softbox and puts out the equivalent of 500W - 650W of light, compared to a studio Fresnel. Obviously, you gain output as you go from 3000K toward 6000K, and then down again over 5600K.

If you like the NILA lights, but are looking to spend less, Elation has released a version called the TVL3000 in tungsten *or* daylight. It comes with a full set of lenses and a case.

Thanks Erik. The Cygnus stuff does look very interesting.

You wouldn't happen to know about LED Fresnel-type equipment makers by any chance? I saw that Arri has some, but they're quite expensive.

edit: Actually, I just saw that Elation has some. If you know of other companies, feel free to post it here.
