I have a pretty good amount of gear and I was approached by one of my edit clients about the possibility of renting a camera and another colleague wanted to rent some P2 cards, they're both pros and have insurance. This Saturday I'm starting the shooting end of my doc and 90% of all the work will be on weekends, so must of my stuff will be idle during the week.
I wanted to know if anyone on DVXuser had any experience with renting their cameras and cards out. I've rented before so i have knowledge on the renter side I just wanted to see what is what like to be the landlord.
 
I've rented my cards out. Get listed as an additional insured, get a copy of the paperwork that shows this. Take photos of your equipment, and sticker/mark them somehow, and take down the serial # on it.

If you're still leery, ask for cash first and take a photo and get a signature/ID of the person picking up. That way if you don't get the card back you have the name/photo of someone to go after.
