I’ve been using the Apple mouse...meh. Just wondering what it’s like to use the Magic Track pad with FCP? Ergos , speed, accuracy general experiences. Anything else I should consider?

Thanks

There will be a mental curve as you'd expect. I haven't regularly used a mouse with a computer in 10 years (I use laptops), and I am always flustered when I have to, but the brain adapts quickly with more hours spent training it. Post-production-wise, it's all the same.

Although I use it out of necessity, I've never been a fan of the track pad of my MBP (or any laptop). Certainly for extended usage sessions. I assume that the Magic Trackpad is leagues better based on the wide adoption. Is it difficult to make precise selections with finesse?

I do find myself using the trackpad-esque features of my Magic mouse increasingly.

Thanks for your response(s)

Honestly, I don't think I have enough experience with it to really comment anymore about it.

It worked well for me, but I don't know what and how you personally edit.

The gestures and what not are easy to get used to, but if you're very familiar accomplishing certain tasks with a mouse like masking or clicking around parameters to change their keyframes - and have been doing that with a mouse for a very long time - I think you will need time, naturally, to get used to using your fingers.

If you haven't already, check out some videos on YouTube so you can see it in action and hear people's thoughts.
