anyone using Lightroom?

I picked up the first beta a few months back and wasn't super impressed, but today my Bibble install got corrupted so I decided to give the new version a go. So far, surface-level, I really like it. The interface is a little intimidating, but very clean, smooth, and professional. I haven't found any major features missing yet, aside from the very clean nice way that iPhoto handles horizons.

Anyway, I guess I'd just like to open this up to a general conversation about what you guys are using to process your photos. iPhoto is fun but lacks just enough features to make it more or less useless to me, and I love Bibble, but Lightroom is certainly much nicer to look at and seems to have most of the features. Of course, I bet you can't beat the price on Bibble once Lightroom is actually released... it'll probably end up close to the ridiculous price tag on Aperture.

Lightroom offers nice features, Bibble could use a new design for the UI. I also use Nikons Capture NX which is o.k.
I am going to get teh the new build right now.

I used to use Nikon Capture, but realized Bibble was far ahead of it in terms of features. But you're right, the UI is very much cobbled together at this point. Lightroom has impressed me thoroughly as I've been tinkering with it. If only it had the one-touch qork queues that Bibble does, I'd consider it absolutely great.

I'm getting pretty serious about using Lightroom in my workflow. It's pretty effin fantastic for a beta and Adobe isn't about to cede photo processing and workflow to *anyone*. Lightroom has a long way to go, but so does every other RAW processing program. I'm also using Nikon NX and it's very nice by Version 1.0 standards, but I have very little faith that Nikon will do the kind of development work needed to get NX into shape. I expect a deathmatch between Aperture and Lightroom that will pretty much pulverize the competition. If you're not using the latest beta of Lightroom, definitely download it because there are some pretty significant changes between releases. Just checked and beta 4.1 was released yesterday.

Personally I just use lightroom to view all of my photos before deciding which to edit and which to print. Photoshop does the rest. Though lightroom is a pretty nice bit of software if you learn to use it properly.

Really? I find Photoshop to be unbearably slow for doing this sort of work (and I consider myself a very expert Photoshop user).

Well, Aperture has already set the bar pretty high in terms of price gouging, so I don't imagine it will cost more than that. If it doesn't cost a bunch less, or come bundled with Photoshop, then I'll just switch back to Bibble.
