Title says it all.

Anyone using a mouse with extra programmable buttons? And with good results?

Which one? How extensively can you program it, and how reliable has it been?

THANKS!

The ShuttlePro is a great idea in theory. Not as much in practice.

Stewart, I've programmed mouse buttons to do splits in clips and to jump to cuts (forwards and backwards); works OK. Gaming keyboards with programmable keys are also useful.

Yeah, I had a ShuttlePro. It left me with THREE things I had to deal with; a mouse, a keyboard, and it.
Nice device but made nothing flow faster or easier.

What software? The last ting I used was an Xkeys 48 programable device, the newer 68 is nicer in that you have more keys. There are several editing interfaces like the Avid Artist Transport that could be nice too, but the price starts getting up there.

The jog and shuttle are still keyboard keys, very much like the shuttle pro. You'll still need keyboard and mouse for some things, but should be reduced a lot depending on the software. I had lots of shifted keys for Lightworks on the smaller device, tried to group things logically.

I agree. I mostly use the ShuttlePro to control my USB missile launcher. It's GREAT for that.
