Is anyone using this zoom controller?

I have one connected one to my DVC30 and it isn't consistent and it drive's me NUTS! By what I mean, when I use the preset zoom speed setting that uses the "W" and "T" push-buttons I "sometimes" (no all the time) get a slight "jerk" while zooming when the button is being pressed down or released (or in transition); while it's pressed down it's fine.
I have received my 1st replacement and it's still doing it. Sudio1 says it maybe my cam, but I doubt it.
I would like some feedback from others.
