anyone used the Wave Jib?

I'd suggest staying away. The producer bought one for the film I'm on at the moment, and it's pretty rubbish. They advertise it as 7' long, but that's including the counter-balance end, which is half of the damned length of the thing. So you have a very limited 3.5-odd feet of boom.

The construction is solid enough for the money, but the leveling bowl gives you barely any adjustment, and the supposed 200lbs weight limit of the tripod legs they ship it with is laughable, they're incredibly flimsy and unnerving to have the jib + weights + camera on.

I'm not a fan.

thanks for the info. We only need about 4 foot of actual jib, and will be using on a heavy tripod we already have.

I'm only hoping for the bare jib to be not wobbly and not fall apart. The one we have now is heavy, but there is too much wobble/vibration/play

Grug, can you tell why the bowl doesn't have much adjustment?

I use it on my Sachtler ENG 2 CF HD and a Dolly S and it's very solid and smooth to operate. I agree that the leveling has very little adjustment but this hasn't been an issue because I level my tripod first. It's not a high end jib but for the small amount of cash it works fine.
