Anyone use this softbox yet?

I tried the d-fuse and not happy. I have a DOF soft box for my LS and its better as key - as long as you add more diffusion and a bit of fill. its size is 23"x23"x9" and costs $60 (Amazon) - It folds up to 9"x23" Also tested putting 40" flexi fill in front of DOF. While softer (of course) but surprisingly not by much. If I have time and space I would use the DOF and the flexi fill. However if speed and space was an issue would be happy to just go with the DOF.

How would you compare the DOF softbox to a shoot through umbrella (lets say the 30in or 43in ones.) The umbrella just has so much spill, no option for a grid, and takes up a lot of space when open but its quick and easy. Trying to find something for our Lighstroms at work that are fast and portable but provide nice softlight with some control.

I bought one of these which arrived a few days ago. Haven't even opened the box yet. I typically use umbrellas, but figured at this price point it was worth a purchase for the rare times umbrellas aren't what I need.

Much the same really. You just have a bit more control of spill and easier to flag if you have window reflections. Have not really used the grid - but its easy to fit. It takes less than 5 minutes to setup the whole thing but as I've said you need double diffusion to avoid hots spots but with the high light output thats not an issue.
