anyone use this case from ebay?

Yes i do, its a great case, not only does it look professional but it takes quite a beating and it and my camera are in perfect condition because of this case. Vanguard is an excellent company and i would definately suggest purchasing this case for your camera or anyhthing really.

I second that. I have the case and love it. Most of the time my camera is in the bag, but I put it in the case when I want a smaller (or tougher) kit. Very nice case and you can get em really cheap on ebay if you keep an eye on them. I think I paid a bit less than the one you show. They're always on there.

EDIT: Besides my camera, I have 2 filters, flyfocus, and a space for tapes and other little things. It's not that big, but does the job.

I have nothing against that case, it's a good case.

But.......what I did was to buy a travel flight luggage unit in which I put foam that I bought from a foam mart. It has tons of room. More importantly, it has extra foam for cushion in sace it's dropped. It also has wheels so I can roll it around. It also has a ton of extra space in side and front pockets in which I put all my accessories.

And I got all that for 50 bucks. 30 for the case and 20 for the foam.

what do I carry in it:
DVX100
century wide angle lens
two stage matt box
around a dozen 4x4 filters
plate with rods
follow focus rig
lav set
headphones
3 batteries
charger and AC line
firewire
cleaning materials
dry erase slate and marker
electrical tape
cleaning tape
manual
screwdrivers

you can't fit all that stuff into a small case like the one you showed. And I just like having most of my primary stuff in one bag.

Why buy from ebay? If you really want these cases go to home depot or lowes and get them for $20. Your camera will literally squeeze in there. Its not much room at all. I got one and regretted it and got a pelican. Pelican 4 stars. Aluminum case 1 star.

He's right. I have a few of these for other equipment and the DVX would be too tight. A good side impact and you could be screwed. Try and remember what you paid for your DVX.... Spend a little more...

But they're nice for microphones and things:

Oh. The case with the cam was a home depot-type store thing, too. :)

Icarus,

What is the brand of flight luggage you used and the size? I need something to carry all my paraphenalia and wheels would be helpful. Do you have something else for the sound gear?

it's not a brand name. I got it at Kmart.
my sound is in a used anvil case I bought for 40 bucks.

by the way, used anvil cases are awesome way to go. try e-bay for them. You can always remove the inside shape and by foam to customize for your needs which is what I did. I don't care for hard cases though for camera kits.
